Connecting to a Database
With Scoop it is possible to tread a database as a data source for a dataset. To do so, select the Application Report option from the dialog after clicking the New Dataset button on the Datasets page. From there, select Database as your option.

Then configure your dataset as either transactional or snapshot as usual. See Snapshot Datasets and Tracking Changes if you are not sure.

Finally, provide the connection information for your database. As long as your database is available as a server, you can connect to it. You can specify login credentials and test the connection.

Once you have done that, you can enter a SQL statement in the SQL Query box and then test it by previewing the results. When satisfied, click "I've Done This" and then supply a name for your database connector. Your query will be executed once a day automatically and the data will be processed by Scoop.
